Alzheimer's Society funding opportunities

The Alzheimer's Society have several funding opportunities for research projects in the areas of cause, cure or prevention of dementia.

The following areas will be considered for funding:

  • Project Grants (closing date 29 June 2012)
  • PhD Studentship Grants (closing date 27 July 2012)
  • Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (closing date 30 November 2012)
  • Clinician Training Fellowships (closing date 30 November 2012)
  • Dissemination Grants (closing date 30 November 2012)

Project Grants
The objective of Alzheimer's Society Project Grants is to provide funding for significant research projects in the areas of cause, cure, care or prevention of dementia. Up to £225,000 funding per application may be requested, for periods up to 3 years.

PhD Studentship Grants
The objective of Alzheimer's Society Project Grants is to provide funding for new PhD studentships in the areas of cause, cure, care or prevention of dementia. Applications should be made by the prospective supervisor. Up to £80,000 may be requested consisting of a fixed student stipend and a budget for student fees, materials and consumables.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
Post-doctoral researchers are invited to apply for a Fellowship grant. This grant covers salary and equipment costs for up to three years.

Clinician Training Fellowships
Flexible funding is available for clinicians who wish to study for a higher degree (MD or PhD) with a view to developing a career involving clinical research.

Dissemination Grants
Applications for Dissemination grants (up to £30,000) are invited from researchers who wish to disseminate the findings of a completed research programme or project.
