Dr. Belinda Green
Belinda is a Consultant Midwife currently working in the area of Public Health at University College London NHS Foundation Trust, with considerable past experience in childbirth. She has an MSc in Research Methods from Surrey University and was awarded a scholarship to undertake a PhD in Midwifery in 2000, a British Sociology Association scholarship prize that enabled travel to the USA and Canada to work with sociologists studying medical decision-making and more recently a Florence Nightingale Travel scholarship which will enable travel to explore antenatal care pathways related to women with a fear of birth in Finland and Sweden
Belinda has a specific research interest in women who have had previous caesarean section and she is looking at predictive methods for birth after caesarean section. She leads a birth after caesarean section clinic and works with women to develop these specific services through focus groups. She is currently working on developing a DVD for women with history of previous caesarean section . This will ensure women have access to research based evidence information in which to base decisions around mode of birth in a user friendly format.
Belinda has successfully acquired some small grant monies to undertake qualitative research and other patient orientated projects
